WHERE TO BIKE-  As I’m sure you already know, Charleston is a bike friendly community.  Bicycle rentals can be found throughout town for a small fee.  There are designated bike lanes throughout the city of Mount Pleasant so you will be able to travel freely around town and enjoy this beautiful city through a different lens. 

1. Cooper River Bridge- a beautiful (and popular) 2.7 mile long bridge with designated bike lane and a beautiful  view 
2. Sullivan’s Island- perfect island area for pedaling between beach houses, restaurants and bars or just relaxing in the sun
3. West Ashley Greenway- beautiful urban/suburban 10.5 mile ride, boosting of marsh views 
4. Downtown Charleston- known for its history, architecture, and one way streets, perfect for a leisurely Sunday morning bike ride

Golf Carts- are a fun way to get around town and can be used on residential streets.  Primary streets should only be crossed during daylight hours.  Golf cart rentals can be obtained at the facilities listed below.  Many offer delivery and are in close proximity to the home

1. Alahambra park is three blocks away and overlooks the Charleston Harbor
2. Shem creek park is less than a mile away and is known for the boardwalks and trail.. have tons of activities available such as paddle boarding, hydro biking, harbor tours, etc
3. Memorial waterfront park is known as the crown jewel of Mt Pleasant, featuring a nautical themed playground, scenic harbor views, gift shop, and tons of activities to enjoy like fishing and hiking 
4. Miriam Brown Community Center & Park is a neighborhood favorite with basketball and tennis courts, as well as a playground for kids.
5. Mount Pleasant Farmers Market- two blocks away and is held every Tuesday from 3:30-7:00pm.  Festival-like event featuring Farm fresh goods, vendors and live music.  Even has events for the kids. 
6. Pitt Street Bridge- only a few blocks away.  A neighborhood and tourist favorite to watch the sunset, fish for crab, take a stroll or have a picnic

1. Sullivan’s Island beach is a short 5 min drive from the property, and is the ideal place for kite surfing,  kayaking, sailing, photography, fishing or just enjoying some fun in the sun
2. Isle of Palms Beach is a 13 min drive from the property and boasts of a 7 mile stretch of pristine beach, perfect for swimming and is also pet and family friendly. Easy parking, golf, tennis, marina, and tons of recreational opportunities 
3. Folly beach is a 23 min drive and is a favorite of many locals because it offers some of the best surfing on the East Coast and was named South Carolina’s Best Beach by Coastal Living Magazine. 

Family-friendly, and a perfect day-trip rain or shine

1. Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is the number 1 tourist attractions in the area.  It houses the legendary USS Yorktown aircraft carrier along with 29 other aircraft displays from WWII
2. Boone Hall Plantation is famous for its features in movies such as The Notebook, Queen, The Tempest, and North & South.  It is a working plantation and houses the world famous Avenue of Oaks, original slave cabins, butterfly garden, and Colonial style mansion.
3. Sc Aquarium is a popular attraction of both locals and tourists.  Features interactive exhibits and hundreds of aquatic and wildlife creatures. Fun for any age
4. Mount Pleasant Pier stretches out to the Charleston Harbor, under the foot of the Cooper River Bridge, you can enjoy a nice leisurely stroll while viewing the iconic view of the Charleston Harbor. Bench swings, and shade covers makes this an ideal location for a picnic
5. Charleston Historic Carriage Tour - discover Charleston’s colonial roots with this horse and buggy tour.  This includes a visit to Charleston’s oldest building, where you will learn about The history of Charleston during the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as visiting the many churches that earned Charleston the name of “Holy City”
